The school is intended for those who wish to begin a career in
the world of art and cultural heritage, providing basic skills
for entry level and higher positions in the public and private
sectors. Job titles include: art technician; preparator; documentation
assistant; gallery assistant; private collection manager; archival
assistant and digital technician. Typical employers include such
organizations as museums, galleries, corporation, historic homes,
cultural centers, academic institutions, private homes and art
service businesses.
Job Placement
While the Studio School will make every effort to assist students
in developing a resume and providing contact with local and regional
arts organizations, no formal assistance for job placement is
available. The Studio School will make available a list of positions
that are sent from time to time on its website. Students are encouraged
to take advantage of their internships project to seek future
employment.
The Studios School is a nonresidential school and encourages
students to work at their own pace on a full or part time basis.
Work Study
Students may, however, apply for a limited number of Work/Study
position that require 20 hours per week of supervised work experience
in exchange for tuition waiver equivalent of up to 50% of their
tuition
